  • Overview

    Maintain, record, and analyze financial accounting transactions through the preparation of financial statements. Assist the VP of Finance in providing finance and accounting services throughout the organization. Supervise Accountants.


    1. Provide staff with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
    2. Conduct supervisory activities such as providing employee orientation and training, creating work schedules, coaching or disciplinary action.
    3. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting transactions, financial statements, journal entries, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
    4. Prepare, records, and maintain financial schedules, reports and filings required by laws, regulations, or management.
    5. Provides assistance/trouble shooting on recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
    6. Review annual budgets, preparing periodic reports to assist Villages and other departments as needed.
    7. Advise, assist, support, train and guide Accounting functions at the Villages
    8. Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
    9. Provide input on various policies, procedures and programs and assist on implementation.
    10. Provide information as requested and assists in the development of documentation that will assist the Villages in achieving financial goals.
    11. Implement policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management.
    12. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development.
    13. Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:
      • Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures.
      • Safety policies and procedures.
      • Federal, state and local regulations.
    14. All other duties as assigned


    Education : Business degree with major in Accounting. 


    Experience : Three to seven years related experience


    Computer Skills

    • Efficient with Microsoft suite applications (Outlook, Word, etc.).
    • Intermediate to Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with Sage’s MAS accounting software helpful.


    Certificates & Licenses: Certified Public Accounting Certificate preferred


    Other Requirements:

    Knowledge of HUD regulations and requirements helpful.

    Ability to work long hours as business needs demand
