    POSITION SUMMARY: Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.




    1. Work with the Housekeeping Director to complete move-in cleans and to help in the refurbishment of individual apartments.
    2. Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
    3. Empty and sanitize ashtrays daily. Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms , recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
    4. Clean, wash, sanitize and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that watermarks are removed from fixtures.
    5. Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways .
    6. Clean floors, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing , and disinfecting . Clean hallways , stairways, and elevators .
    7. Remove dirt, dust, grease , film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
    8. Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
    9. Clean vacant rooms as assigned .
    10. Maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas; perform regular inspections of resident apartments for sanitation, order, and safety.
    11. Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers .
    12. Utilize safe practices when performing all tasks .
    13. Notify the Housekeeping Director of any problems in resident apartments .
    14. Notify the Housekeeping Director, Executive Director, or Manager on Duty of any resident incidents or safety concerns.
    15. Maintain Service Excellence Core Values during employment and servicing residents, staff, volunteers, leaders, vendors, and all associated with the organization.
    16. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development.
    17. Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:
      • Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures.
      • Safety policies and procedures.
      • Federal, state and local regulations.
    1. All other duties as assigned


    Education –


    • An equivalent combination of experience, education, and other qualifications may be considered.


    Experience -

    • Previous experience in housekeeping services desirable.






    • Handling / Fingering
    • Lift/Carry/Push/Pullup to 20 lbs. minimum
    • Standing for long periods of time


    Work Environment:  office and health care environment. Must have flexibility to alter assigned working hours, to accomplish tasks that cannot be performed during the working day as requested.. Subject to frequent interruptions.
