  • Overview

    The Communication Specialist will assist in the creation and oversight of the Presbyterian Villages of Michigan (PVM) communication strategy.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to:

    1. Respond to digital lead generation and reputation management for PVM’s various communities
    2. Generate stakeholder engagement, growing the brand’s digital influence, promoting brand loyalty and awareness, and support of PVM's services, mission and values.
    3. Assist in maintaining PVM’s digital strategy
    4. Create and oversees execution of PVM’s digital strategy in support of conversion and engagement goals for PVM stakeholders (Marketing, Resource Development, HR and Corporate Administration)
    5. Craft plans and editorial schedules. Participate in monitoring communications in social media and blogs
    6. Create email marketing strategy in collaboration with Director of Sales & Marketing, supporting community and organizational goals
    7. Oversee its administration, creation of relevant content, as well as coordination of social media campaigns, and updating of all PVM’s web content on website and associated social media platforms
    8. Create digital advertising in multiple platforms (social media, SEM, PPC, display advertising, etc)
    9. Work with vendors when necessary to ensure successful digital campaigns
    10. Ensure that campaigns remain on budget, maintains brand standards, and delivers relevant results
    11. Coordinate copy writing, edits, and proofreads all web content
    12. Develop and expand Corporate and Community digital outreach efforts through creation of content: design, writing and editing of content, consistent with digital media strategy and in consultation with the SVP & Chief Marketing officer, Director of Sales & Marketing, and other management staff as appropriate
    13. Coordinate all digital requests from various departments and/or communities including online advocacy, online reputation management, writing editorial, video production, and evaluation of social media platforms
    14. Oversee the development and distribution of content across owned and earned social channels (e.g. posts, tweets, status updates, pins, photos, etc.)
    15. Measure engagement and monitor all online platforms
    16. Generate reports on relevant digital metrics and trends
    17. Share site performance and create improvements based on metrics and user trends
    18. Maintain confidentiality and rights of resident, family, employee, and facility information in compliance with PVM HIPAA policies and applicable regulations
    19. Maintain PVM Social Media and websites within bounds of copyright laws and regulations current with internet practices
    20. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development
    21. Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:
        1. Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures
        2. Safety policies and procedures
        3. Federal, state, and local regulations
    22. All other duties as assigned




    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience.



    Minimum five years’ experience in marketing and communications, preferably in large, complex organizations. Prior experience with digital marketing and communications, including website strategy, design, and implementation, developing lead nurturing workflows through marketing automation, social media strategy and implementation, email marketing, digital campaign management, blogging and other digital assets required



    In depth knowledge and experience with cultivating leads and conversions through marketing automation and digital platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest required. Must possess excellent communication skills- orally, written and video format. Prior experience with sourcing and managing content development, publishing and online reputation and review management required. Experience with content management systems; email marketing systems, SEO/SEM, various social media platforms and analytics programs (such as Hootsuite, EMMA, and Google Analytics). Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
