Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, a premier senior living and services faith-based non-profit organization, invites a dynamic leader to join our executive leadership team as the Executive Director, of Perry Farm Village and The Birches of Perry Farm, in Harbor Springs, Michigan.  We invite you to help us create new possibilities for quality living for the seniors we serve.  Perry Farm Village is a senior living community offering Assisted Living with services, and many more great amenities.

 

The dynamic leader selected for this important role will be responsible for the overall success of Perry Farm and The Birches at Perry Farm, including financial, regulatory, resident satisfaction, care quality, stewardship of the physical facility, employee development and satisfaction, marketing, and providing leadership to the person or persons managing the daily operations.  Independent Living at Perry Farm Village is a great option for older adults who desire a vibrant, care-free, low-maintenance lifestyle.Adult Foster Care at the Birches is for older adults who value their independence but need varying levels of assistance with activities of daily living. Memory Care at the Birches is designed to provide a secure and structured home for older adults living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct supervisory activities such as hiring and firing staff, providing employee orientation and training, coaching or disciplinary action, and approving employee time sheets for direct reports.
  2. Analyze operations to evaluate performance of a Village and or staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
  3. Direct or coordinate Village's financial or budget activities to fund operations and increase efficiency.
  4. Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities of Village to ensure continuing operations.
  5. Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding or implementation of programs.
  6. Negotiate or approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, or other organizational entities.
  7. Appoint department managers and assign or delegate responsibilities to them.
  8. Approve human resource plans or activities including the selection of managers or other high-level staff, establishment or organization of major departments, or increases and decreases in staffing levels for Village.
  9. Establish relationship with Village Board of Trustees including development, education, and management support.
  10. Establish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions among departments and sites.
  11. Implement corrective action plans to solve Village or departmental problems.
  12. Coordinate the development or implementation of budgetary control systems, recordkeeping systems, or other administrative control processes.
  13. Serve as liaisons between Village, PVM, and outside organizations.
  14. Attend and participate in meetings of municipal councils or council committees.
  15. Organize or approve promotional campaigns.
  16. Conduct or direct investigations or hearings to resolve complaints or violations of laws or testify at such hearings.
  17. Represent organizations or promote their objectives at official functions or delegate representatives to do so.
  18. Attend, participate, or organize meetings and outreach efforts with municipal councils or council committees, senior services organizations, community service Organization, key individuals, and churches
  19. Make final decisions on admissions and benevolence matters.
  20. Lead or direct fund development campaigns.
  21. Develop and implement long-term strategic planning for Village.
  22. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development.
  23. Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:
    • Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures.
    • Safety policies and procedures.
    • Federal, state and local regulations.
  24. All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Aging Services, Hospitality, or Health Care Management required, or experience commensurate with a graduate degree. 
  • Six to Eight (6 – 8) years in health care management, at a senior executive level, preferably including experience in assisted living, memory care, long-term care and/or housing.
  • Knowledge and experience in critical areas inclusive of housing, senior services, Sales and Marketing, Fundraising, and Wellness initiatives
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours an needed to accomplish goals.
